The new Colortrac SmartLF - a great value large format scanner

Leading British scanner manufacturer Colortrac have introduced the Colortrac SmartLF. The SmartLF is the first low-cost large format scanner. It breaks the high price barrier that has previously prevented many CAD users from owning a large format scanner. The SmartLF is great value - a perfect partner for Scan2CAD.

Here are just some of the benefits:

  • It costs much less to buy and run than similarly specified scanners.
  • You can install it yourself - just plug 'n play.
  • It's user-friendly - it works straight out of the box.
  • It can be used within 10 seconds of switching on - there's no warm-up time.
  • It requires no calibration, no stitching, no mirrors, no lamps.
  • Its "no adjustment necessary" optics system gives crisp, clear images.
  • It's supplied with easy-to-use scanning software - at no extra cost.
  • It scans drawings up to 44" wide with an image width of 40".
  • It scans at 400 dpi optical - and up to 2400 dpi interpolated.
  • It's fast in colour - and as fast as scanning gets in black and white.
  • It has virtually no consumables costs.
  • It comes with free support and a two year Return to Factory warranty.
  • It's lightweight and can be taken home or on-site.
  • It becomes a large format copying system when connected to a printer.
  • You can buy a monochrome scanner now and upgrade to color later.
  • It's ideal for CAD - and more!

Quick tip - typing over poor quality text

When the text on your raster image is simply too poor quality to convert to vector text using Scan2CAD's OCR, the easiest way to convert it is to type new vector text over it. Click here to find out how!

And finally ...

This issue's humor was gleaned from a newsgroup by Neale Brodie of Rubicon Systems Design:

"A polar bear is a rectangular bear after a co-ordinate transform".
